This notice explains what personal data we process when you use ViaggiSingle, why, and for how long. The short version: we collect as little as possible, Google's cookies only start if you accept them, and we never store anything about your sexual orientation or gender identity.

## Data controller

The data controller is Dario Valastro, publisher of ViaggiSingle.

## Visitor statistics

Two tools, with different rules.

The first is Cloudflare Web Analytics. According to Cloudflare, the service doesn't use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics, and doesn't fingerprint individuals via IP address, user agent string or other data. ([source](https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/)) We see aggregate numbers (visits, pages, countries, load times), not people. That is why it runs without asking you anything.

The second is Google Tag Manager with Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies. It starts only if you press "Accept" in the bar shown on your first visit: until then no Google script is loaded, and if you decline it is never loaded. ([source](https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/10718549)) Which cookies it sets, for how long and how to change your mind is on the [Cookies](/en/cookies/) page.

## Your "Travelling as…" profile stays in your browser

You can pick a traveller profile on the site (for example woman, LGBTQ+, trans, over 50) to reorder information and the Solo Score weights. That choice is stored only in your browser, on your device. We don't receive it, we don't log it on our servers and we don't link it to anything else.

This is deliberate. The EU General Data Protection Regulation treats data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation as a special category, with a general ban on processing except in specific cases. ([source](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj)) For travellers, that kind of information in the wrong hands can be a real danger. The safest option is not to hold it at all. You can clear your choice at any time by deleting this site's data in your browser.

## Newsletter

If you subscribe, we use your email address to send you the newsletter, and for nothing else.

- **Double opt-in.** After signing up you'll get an email with a confirmation link. Until you click it, we won't write to you.
- **Unsubscribing.** Every email has an unsubscribe link. When you use it, your address is removed from the list.
- **Provider.** The newsletter is run by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), based in France, in the European Union. Brevo stores the addresses on our behalf and processes them only to send the newsletter, under its own privacy policy.
- **No profiling.** We don't ask for or store subscribers' traveller profile, orientation or gender identity.

## Reports and messages

If you email us, for instance to report a mistake via the [Corrections page](/en/corrections/), we use your address and message only to reply and handle the report. If a correction is published, your name won't appear in the log unless you ask us to include it.

## Technical data

The site is delivered through Cloudflare's infrastructure. As with any website, this involves processing some technical connection data needed to serve pages and protect them from abuse. We don't use it to profile you.

## Links to other sites

Our pages link to many external sources (ministries, statistics offices, event organisers). When you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies.

## Your rights

You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, or object to processing, under Articles 15 to 21 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy, that's the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. ([source](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj))

To exercise your rights, email dario@rankwit.ai.

## Changes to this notice

If we change how we process data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Changes affecting the newsletter will also be sent to subscribers.
