Pride in Europe: which month each city celebrates
Europe's Pride season runs from early June to mid-August. Typical month, official websites and the 2027 dates organisers have already announced, nothing guessed.

Pride is one of the rare events where travelling alone works in your favour. The parade is open to anyone, you fall in with whoever is next to you, and the days around it fill up with parties, talks and exhibitions where starting a conversation takes no effort. In Hostelworld's 2026 survey of solo travellers, 19.7% identified as LGBTQIA+,1 so you won't be the only one planning a trip around a Pride.
This page tells you when Pride happens in the European cities we cover. Where organisers have already published 2027 dates, we give them with a link. Where they haven't, we don't guess. Pride dates move from year to year, and a made-up date is how people end up booking the wrong weekend.
Already announced for 2027
If you like to plan a year ahead, three cities have done it for you.
Dublin: 23-27 June 2027. The festival runs Wednesday to Sunday, with the march and parade on Saturday 26 June. Registration is already open.2
Amsterdam: 31 July to 8 August 2027. After hosting WorldPride in 2026, Pride Amsterdam has published next year's dates: the Canal Parade sails on Saturday 7 August, with street parties on Friday 6 and Saturday 7.3 The parade is watched from the canal banks. Get there early if you want a view.
Prague: 2-8 August 2027. The festival runs all week, with the parade on Saturday 7 August.4 That's the same Saturday as Amsterdam's Canal Parade, so if you were hoping to do both, you'll have to choose.
The rest of the calendar
| City | Typical month | Latest confirmed dates | Organiser |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ljubljana | June | 2026: festival 5-13 June, parade 13 June | Ljubljana Pride |
| Lisbon | June | Arraial Lisboa Pride, 22 June in 2024 | via Visit Lisboa |
| Milan | Late June | 2026: parade Saturday 27 June | CIG Arcigay Milano |
| Naples | Late June | 2026: march 27 June | Napoli Pride |
| Madrid | Late June to early July | 2026: festival 1-5 July, march 4 July | MADO / AEGAL |
Ljubljana. The 2026 festival ran from 5 to 13 June. Parade day started with a Pride village at Park Zvezda, gathered at the Metelkova cultural centre at 18:00 and set off at 19:00.5
Lisbon. The Arraial Lisboa Pride, the city's big open-air party, takes place in June. In 2024 it was on 22 June.6 We couldn't find published 2027 dates.
Milan. In 2026 the parade was on Saturday 27 June, gathering outside Stazione Centrale and finishing at the Arco della Pace around 19:00, with a party until 1am. It's organised by CIG Arcigay Milano with the Coordinamento Arcobaleno associations.7
Naples. The 2026 march was the same day, 27 June.8 Combine it with a few days on the coast and you have a different kind of Italian summer trip.
Madrid. MADO stretches across more than a week. In 2026 the Orgullo de Barrio neighbourhood programme ran from 25 to 30 June, the festival from 1 to 5 July, and the march took place on Saturday 4 July. It's run by AEGAL with volunteers.9
Barcelona. When we checked, Pride Barcelona's site showed its 2026 theme and the city's bid for WorldPride 2030, but no dates.10 We'll add them once they're official.
Choosing between them
If you can only do one Pride next year, decide by what you want from the trip rather than by size.
For a first Pride abroad, Dublin is the easiest to plan: the dates are already out, the festival is compact at five days, and English is the working language. You can book flights and a bed now and stop thinking about it.
For a party that runs all week, Madrid's programme stretches across more than ten days once you include the neighbourhood events, so you can arrive midweek and still catch the march.
For something on the water, Amsterdam's Canal Parade is the only one on this list watched from canal banks rather than a street. That changes the logistics: you pick a spot and stay, rather than walking with the crowd.
For a city break with a Pride attached, Prague and Ljubljana let you combine the march with a few ordinary days of sightseeing, because the festival weeks run alongside normal city life.
Whichever you choose, check the official site again a month before you travel. Programmes, routes and timings can change from one edition to the next.
Budapest: read before you book
For Budapest, the question isn't the month, it's the legal context. ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Map 2026 ranks Hungary 38th of 49 countries. In the previous edition it fell seven places following the first Pride ban in the European Union. In April 2026 the Court of Justice of the EU ruled that Hungary's anti-LGBTI "propaganda" law, which had been used to criminalise Pride and its organisers, violated fundamental rights.11
We don't have a verified 2027 date. If you plan to go, read the FCDO or State Department advice for Hungary before booking and again a few days before you travel.
Going to Pride alone: the practical bits
- Book the bed first. Flights turn up. Central beds on Pride weekend don't.
- Agree a fixed meeting point with anyone you meet. Phones struggle in big crowds.
- The days before the parade are better for meeting people. The march is the highlight, but nobody can hear a thing.
- Outside western Europe, check the law. The UK Foreign Office reminds LGBT+ travellers that violence or stigma can occur even in welcoming countries, and that attitudes vary within a country, with rural areas often less tolerant.12
Each of our city pages has an LGBTQ+ section with neighbourhoods, venues and the legal situation. Start with Madrid, Amsterdam or Dublin. Our LGBTQ+ travel hub ranks destinations with the Solo Score for the LGBTQ+ profile.
Frequently asked questions
Which European Prides have 2027 dates already?
As of late October 2026, organisers have published: Dublin, festival 23-27 June 2027 with the parade on Saturday 26 June; Amsterdam, 31 July to 8 August 2027 with the Canal Parade on Saturday 7 August; Prague, 2-8 August 2027 with the parade on 7 August.
When is Madrid Pride?
Late June into early July. In 2026 MADO ran its festival from 1 to 5 July with the march on Saturday 4 July, after a neighbourhood programme from 25 to 30 June.
Can I go to Pride on my own?
Yes, and it's one of the easiest events to do solo. Parades are open, you walk alongside thousands of people, and many Prides run parties and talks in the days before. Sort your accommodation early.
Is it safe to go to Budapest Pride?
Check current advice before you go. ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Map 2026 notes that Hungary fell seven places in the previous edition after the EU's first Pride ban, and that in April 2026 the EU Court of Justice found the law used against Pride violated fundamental rights.
